VADOC Peer Recovery Specialist Contractor

PRS vendor position serves District #14, Danville P&P located in Danville, VA.

Position is contracted with limited monthly hours.  This position cannot make more than $10,000 / year.  Hourly wage is $20.00 / hour.

Position Requirements:

·       Released from all supervision (VADOC vendors can not be under active probation supervision)

·       Completed the DBHDS PRS Training (72 hours) with proof of certificate

·       Qualified to contract with state government (SAM.gov)

·       Knowledge on creating recovery plans for individuals being served

·       Experience with using virtual platforms and Microsoft Office for services / billing

·       Professionalism including PRS ethics, communication, and public relations

·       Work Independently

·       Commitment to the position

·       Personal history and active recovery with a substance use disorder due to population being supported

·       Knowledge and demonstration of team collaboration

·       Motivated and experienced in advancing recovery support services

Preferred:

·       Certified through the Virginia Certification Board

·       Preferred past experience being in the justice system to provide understanding / mutuality
