Richmond Behavioral Health is seeking one individual for a full time Certified Peer Recovery Specialist position with our ACT Team (Assertive Community Treatment).
Assertive community treatment (ACT) is a form of community-based mental health care. It is designed to help individuals experiencing serious mental illness. ACT takes a holistic approach that offers multidisciplinary care to people experiencing severe mental illness. The goal is to improve functioning and help people in their communities and out of inpatient treatment.
Essential Functions
Coaching and consultation to clients to promote recovery and self-direction.
Consistently works with clients by assisting them with building skills that help promote their own recovery and self- sufficiency.
Facilitating wellness management and recovery strategies (e.g., Wellness Recovery Action Plans (WRAP), Illness Management and Recovery (IMR), or other deliberate wellness strategies).
Participates in all team activities (e.g., treatment planning, daily team meeting, chart notes) equivalent to fellow team members.
Models skills for and provides consultation to fellow team members.
Provides cross-training to other team members in recovery principles and strategies.
Monitors and assesses client’s mental health status; provides supportive counseling as needed. Provides crisis support services.
Arranges and provides transportation for clients to appointments, grocery stores, offices, etc; Engages clients on socialization outings to practice learned skills.
Responsible for the development and implementation of Individual, Family, and Group treatment interventions. Link individuals to community resources to help meet basic needs.
Provide a minimum of 75% of services in the community.
Attend daily team meetings and provide updates on any interventions or individual needs within the last 24 hours.
Effectively collaborate with colleagues to assure client care is occurring as specified by the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) model and the individual service plan.
Evaluate individuals’ environment for safety, security and negative factors.
Medication administration/delivery.
Assist with crisis coordination and related clinical support, to include coverage of on call phone line. Assist with shadowing and training new employees as assigned.
Maintain compliance with all regulatory boards, RBHA Policies and Procedures, Employee Handbook and ACT model.
Report clinical concerns, as outlined in policy, in a timely manner to your Supervisor/ Manager/ Director and assist in disseminating information to and from the clinical team.
Represent RBHA in positive and professional manner.
Attends training as required.
