
Richmond Behavioral Health
Provides non-clinical support to individuals and family members engaging in services utilizing the education received in the DBHDS approved 72-hour Peer Recovery Specialist Training. Receives advanced recovery-oriented trainings along with a high level of supervision and support. Interns are placed at a CSB/BHA in Region 4 where they will share relevant lived experience, use a strength-based person-centered approach to support individuals and family members identifying barriers to reaching goals and building recovery capital. This work will assist un-certified Peer Recovery Specialists in obtaining their 500 hours needed to sit for the state exam. Internship is a total of 560 hours.
