  • The overall goal of this position is to provide Peer Recovery Support to individuals participating in the Behavioral Health Docket in conjunction with the City of Richmond’s Court System and to connect individuals seeking recovery to a larger community of care and available resources.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    ·       Engage individuals interested in seeking addiction recovery, and applying a person-centered approach to Peer Recovery Support.

    ·       Peer works with clients who are court ordered to the docket

    ·       Peer will provide detailed case notes on peers to clinicians

    ·       Provide one-on-one Peer Support to assist individuals in recovery goal setting.

    Offer resources and recovery tools to assist individuals in their recovery process
    Individual works directly with treatment team to assist in meetings with clients including interventions
    Refer peers to resources for medical, housing, and detox facilities.
    Facilitate recovery support groups
    Participates in ongoing recovery coach training
    Knowledge of national and local substance use and prevention statistics and demonstrates ability to apply current trends in practice to coaching
    Assist in Outreach Activities.
    Peer must be able to articulate and provide recovery support in relation to the 12 – Step process.
    Qualifications

    Passionate individual who is in recovery from a Substance Use Disorder for 4 or more years. Individual must have used Narcotics Anonymous or Alcoholics Anonymous as part of their own recovery plan.  Must demonstrate in practice that there are multiple pathways to recovery.  Must be a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist.

     

    Compensation

    This position is part-time non-exempt (Up to 25 hours per week) at a rate of $18.00 per hour. No benefits package is offered.
